Little One, God Loves You written by Amy Warren Hilliker (daughter of Rick Warren, author of Purpose Driven Life) and illustrated by Polona Lovesin is a charmingly written and illustrated children's book. It was written and illustrated to tell children under the age of four, that God has a purpose for them and that God loves them.
The main characters of the book are bunny rabbits. The colors are so bright and spring-like. Not only do the colors paint beautiful pictures on the pages, but they captured the eyes of my little ones and captivated them into the book. My oldest, who is two, really enjoyed the little bunny and his adventure through the book. My youngest, who doesn't really understand the words, was in love with the pictures and smiled as I read the words.
I was able to ask my two year old questions on each page to get him thinking about the story and how it is important to know that since God loves him, he has a job on this earth as a child of God. Being two, he doesn't understand fully, but this book definitely puts it in sweet and short words for a great start of understanding.
My youngest who is almost eight months old enjoyed touching and playing with the book. It is a board book, so it is drool proof! He enjoyed turning the pages and looking at the pictures after I was finished reading it to him.
I would recommend this book to all of my mommy friends that want to share with their young children that they are loved by God through a book that will keep the little ones interested and help them to pay attention.
